At Churchill, we believe every child deserves to have a great day at school. The Center exists to support the teacher, the caregiver, the specialist, and all those who devote their time and energy to making that happen for all learners. We believe in evidence-based practices and seek out leaders in their field to share their knowledge and expertise with our community.
Our vision is to be an invaluable resource for those who can benefit from what we offer: expertise and empathy. The Center is a safe place for parents, caregivers, and professionals to learn, share ideas, and gain the knowledge necessary to help students with language-based learning disabilities and those who struggle with executive functioning, ADHD, and other challenges that interfere with student self-confidence and success.
Our expert-led workshops for teachers and other related service providers are given throughout the year and often in partnership with The Reading League New York. Our family workshops are inclusive and open to everyone so that all parents and caregivers can feel empowered by knowledgeable speakers and interactive sessions. We are also a support for students outside of the Churchill Community, providing free reading screenings and reading intervention through our Reading Initiative.
Please take a moment to peruse our library of past workshops and subscribe to our mailing list to learn about upcoming workshops and events. We look forward to welcoming you to our community.
Warmly,
Lynn Carpenter
Director of the Churchill Center for Professional Development and Engagement
