Apply to Churchill

1. Create an account for our online Admissions Portal.
2. Complete the online application and submit the $125.00 non-refundable application fee.
3. Upload your child’s Neuropsychological or Psychoeducational Evaluation, completed within 2 years (required).
4. Upload your child’s IEP (if applicable).
5. Upload supporting evaluations (Speech, OT, progress reports, etc.) (if applicable).
6. Upload a completed Release Form, downloadable in your child’s checklist (required).
7. Request that your child’s teacher completes a questionnaire by inputting an email address through the portal. Additional providers may submit forms as well, but the teacher questionnaire is required.

• Once the supporting documents have been received by the Admissions Office, the application is reviewed and an initial determination is made.
• If it is determined your child might be appropriate for our program, we will move forward with scheduling Interviews and Assessments.
• We interview only when we anticipate a space. For students that are applying for a grade with no anticipated spaces, any student who appears appropriate after our initial review will be added to a waitlist. ONLY when space becomes available will we schedule interviews.

After review, we may determine Churchill is not the appropriate educational setting for your child. In that case, we will work with you as best we can to assist in finding the right educational environment.

Interviews and Assessments

Once the Admissions Committee has reviewed your documents and has determined to move forward:

Parent/Guardian Interview

An interview will be scheduled where you will meet with an Admissions team member. This conversation will explore the match between Churchill and your family. This appointment can be scheduled virtually or in person.

Student Assessments

Your student will be scheduled for an interview, which includes assessments.

Kindergarten

• Candidates will participate in playgroups, run by members of the Admissions Committee.

Grades 1-6

• Candidates will receive social/emotional, academic, and speech & language screenings from members of our Admissions Team.

Grades 7-10

• The candidate will have an interview with a member of the Admissions Committee and complete a writing sample.

Visit Day

Grades 1-6

• If appropriate based on the Assessment Visit, candidates may be invited back to spend some time in a Churchill classroom.

Grades 7-10

• After their interview, the candidate will participate in a shadow experience with a current Churchill student.

Please Note: we typically do not have placement for students past Grade 9.  Applications for students in other High School grades are considered very carefully and only when space is available.

Enrollment Contracts will be sent in December to families who have completed the interview process and are accepted. Families are given 10 business days to return the contract with a non-refundable deposit, unless they have applied for Financial Assistance.

In February, Financial Assistance decisions are sent out.

Attending an admissions event is not required, but we would love to meet you and help you get to know our program.

Parents who do not receive a placement may reactivate their application for the following school year, without paying a new application fee. To reactivate, please contact the Admissions Office. Applications will not be considered active after August unless reactivated. Please keep evaluations and supporting documents updated so that we can continue to consider your child.
