Position Summary and Overview
The Upper School Executive Function Specialist will support both students and professionals while collaborating closely with the following members of the Upper School: Division Director, Grade Coordinators, Related Service Providers, Lower School Executive Function Specialist, and Special Educators to serve as an expert in monitoring our students’ developing executive function skills. In this position, the Executive Function Specialist will develop and oversee programming related to executive functioning, support individual student needs and provide professional development to faculty members while being responsible for ensuring the following essential duties and responsibilities are executed.

- Develop and modify (as needed) effective programming to support students’ executive function skills in order to improve their overall academic and social/emotional school experience
- Provide ongoing professional development to Upper School professionals

Qualifications

Position Summary and Overview
The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is expanding its College Counseling Office and seeking an Associate Director of College Counseling/College Counselor (title dependent on previous experience) to begin August 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values
- Embrace and model Churchill’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Support the overall operations of the College Guidance office
- Responsible for caseload of approximately 20 students per grade
- Facilitate student and family college meetings for assigned students
- Develop customized college/post-secondary lists for assigned students
- Help assigned seniors with all aspects of the college application process, including application completion, essay brainstorming and writing, and preparation for the transition to college
- Oversee application submission process through Naviance for assigned students
- Write personalized letters of recommendation for assigned students
- Co-teach and plan a weekly guidance class for juniors and seniors
- Serve as a resource for students, parents and teachers regarding post high school planning
- Collaborate with College Counseling team to develop and host presentations for parents, 9th/10th grade students, and others as needed
- Collaborate with College Counseling team to host college admission rep visits each fall
- Assist in the administration of standardized testing for students with school-based testing (requires approximately 3 weekends/year, which you will be compensated for)
- Assist in managing standardized testing accommodations request process
- Assist in managing practice standardized tests, including Practice SAT and ACT
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have...
- Minimum 3-years of experience in college counseling or selective college admissions
- Strong skills in verbal and written communication, organization and time management, public speaking/presenting and counseling
- The ability to connect and build relationships with a diverse group of high school students and their families
- A positive attitude, welcoming demeanor, and desire to work in a team environment. Patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor are important as well
- NYS Certification in School Counseling is preferred but not required
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities is helpful, but not required

Position Description
The Enrollment Support Services Associate is a 12-month position that helps Churchill to carry out its Mission and works directly with Churchill families, assisting with the funding process, whether through settlement and/or due process hearings. The Enrollment Support Services Associate serves as a resource on educational law for Churchill as it applies to enrollment management processes, such as financial aid, tuition management, and retention strategies. The Enrollment Support Services Associate will report directly to the Director of Enrollment Support Services. The first date of employment will be July 1, 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Community Engagement
- Liaise between families (incoming and currently enrolled) and Churchill School, attorneys, CSE, and other necessary representatives during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
- Coordinate with attorneys to schedule and/or prepare Churchill faculty for impartial hearing testimonies.
- Participate in Churchill admissions events for prospective families and/or education professionals.
- Support the development of community outreach programming relating to the IEP/CSE and funding processes.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of educational attorneys.
- Educate current, incoming, and prospective families and/or the greater community about the funding and/or CSE/IEP processes as they relate to enrollment at Churchill.
- Other duties as assigned.
Student Information Management
- Support Churchill educators and administrators and/or prepare the necessary documentation to advocate for students during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings, including but not limited to drafting progress reports or writing affidavits.
- Administer the MySchools platform if students apply to public schools.
- Maintain records of individual student/family IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Legal Interface
- Train and support instructional faculty as needed to facilitate IEP/CSE and due process proceedings.
- Coordinate with the Business Office to proactively track tuition receivables and communicate with students’ families, attorneys, and the DOE as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings or testify in Impartial Hearings when necessary and appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Paralegal Studies, or a related field
- A Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or Paralegal Studies (preferred)
- A background in educational law and/or special education administration is preferred
- 3+ years of experience helping families navigate IEP meetings and due process proceedings with the NYC DOE
- Possesses a deep understanding of IDEA, due process proceedings, IEPs, and the intricacies of NYC DOE functioning
